| Rebecca’s knuckle is still sore and swollen months after initial injury. In August, Rebecca smashed the middle knuckle on the middle finger on her right hand while laying a rock step. | ||
At the time she did not think much of the injury. “It hurt, but people smash their fingers all the time while doing trail work; it was definitely not a serious injury.” Months later, the knuckle is still swollen and sore. The knuckle is noticeably larger and slightly discolored. There is a weird, hard bump just below the knuckle. When Rebecca bends this finger, the bump is clearly visible. “I can feel the bump, its definitely not normal,” says Rebecca. |

“I guess I should be concerned that my knuckle is still swollen and hurts. I hope I didn’t mess it up too bad.” Rebecca has decided to wait to see if her knuckle might get better. The injury doesn’t bother her too much. She probably won’t do anything about it. |
