Pagan Sonnet is a series of installation references the grave and dealing with the materiality of death. The second is a rectangular piece of sod on the floor of the gallery. An indent of a headstone has been left in the sod. The series is inspired by poem "Pagan Sonnet" by Patrick Nagle. The last lines of the poem read: Unlike you, Sparrow I shall lie in state. In this cold air, like you, I praise my fate.
